The Stress Nanny Yoga Studio
Virtual Studio Classes Coming March 2021
When I first started practicing yoga I could barely move. My back was going out all the time and I had very little range of motion in my neck. I couldn't pick up my daughter without fearing pain shooting down my spine. My body was riddled with inflammation. I'd heard great things about yoga so I found a restorative class near my house and started to go. It took a few tries to find "my teacher" but once I did I committed to a weekly practice.
I was in a restorative/gentle class with ladies who were double my age. I couldn't do any pose without modifications, I needed all the cushions, blocks and bolsters I could get.
Slowly, over time, my body began to settle. My nervous system mellowed out and I started to feel better. After a while longer I was moving freely and I didn't need quite as many props. I had never been "flexible" before beginning yoga.
I can't remember a time before my 35th year when I could touch my toes. Yoga changed my life substantially, in fact it gave me my life back so when I had the chance to take a yoga teacher training in 2017 I jumped at the opportunity.
I believe in making yoga accessible to ALL body types and abilities. I teach restorative/therapeutic yoga which means we are using yoga to support your body's ability to heal and build resilience. We are allowing the poses, breathing and consistent practice to bring your nervous system down from high stress to more manageable stress. Out of control stress = inflammation so it's important to keep stress levels in a place your body can handle. If you've never done yoga before you're in the right place. In the Stress Nanny Yoga studio you'll find full acceptance, lots of love and ample support to start a practice. I'm happy to share it with you.
In the Stress Nanny Studio, I'll teach at least
1 yoga class a week
1 Mindfulness or Meditation session a week
1 Kids Mindfulness exercise each month
All classes will be available via zoom or Facebook live. Recordings will be posted each week and available as a private yoga library for you to access.
MINDFUL KIDS COACHING
Calmer, Happier Kids
Our kids experience stress like never before. Without the right tools we can feel helpless watching our kids struggle under huge burdens of stress. I teach kids ages 6-18 to use mindfulness and growth mindset to build confidence and feelings of calm.
Here's how it works:
I meet with you for 30 min and we have a conversation about your child.
I set up a unique plan that incorporates your goals for your child.
I meet with your child for 30 min on zoom each week (or 2x month) for a playful mindfulness practice. A 30 minute session is $30.
(Think of it like piano lessons)
I meet with you every 2 months to check on progress and re-assess goals.
After 6-12 months your child graduates having built a mindfulness "toolbox" to help with stress, worries, school and social struggles.
Here's what parents have to say:
Before working with Lindsay my son had a hard time looking people in the eyes and engaging in conversation. Had feelings of anxiety and depression. Was withdrawn and often hit and yelled at his brother. Was not confident in himself and was failing most of his classes.
After working with Lindsay he seems happier. His grades are all A’s and B’s. He has tools to help him feel and process his emotions. He is able to communicate his needs more effectively. Has a healthy relationship with his brother.
I’m so glad I have my son working with Lindsay because she is kind, patient and wise. She mirrors his body language and words and he has come to trust her. She has taught him ways to empowered himself. She never makes him feel stupid. She is extremely genuine. She has given him evidence that he can trust people in his life. She is intuitive and flexible and always has his best interest in mind." -Lisa
"The kids know she cares because she listens to them and has such an effective way of communicating with them. She has expertise in helping kids empower themselves. I have seen her in action as a teacher, counselor, problem-solver and manager and it is always done in a fun, positive and caring way. Lindsay's professional qualities of intelligence, dependability, flexibility and team work cannot be overstated. She is always well-prepared. She has the ability to adapt as needed to the kids different ability levels and learning styles." -Travis
I knew my child needed something to help her with excessive worry but I wasn't sure I wanted to take her to therapy. She loves Lindsay's mindfulness class and now she asks when her next mindfulness meeting is! -Allison
At first my daughter fought me about doing mindfulness but I knew she needed it. I made her a deal that she could skip one day of piano practice for every mindfulness class she attended. Now she looks forward to it. I can always tell when she's had mindfulness class too. She's more positive and calm. The other day after the call she walked around the house playing mellow music! -Irene
Thank you so much, these lessons are extremely valuable for me and my four kids. -Hannah
My daughter says you're really understanding! -Mariah
I can tell my child is connecting with you and I can see a difference after just 2 sessions. -Ann
